Fines for violating La Crosse's alternate side parking rules are set to triple. The city council approved the measure Thursday night.
The initial fine for breaking the parking rules will increase from $10 to $30. The new rule also allows police to tow improperly parked vehicles during a 48-hour snow period, during or after a major snow fall.
