It won't necessarily get wrapped up, tied with a bow and put under the tree, but the La Crosse police department does appear to be heading towards getting an early Christmas present from the city council. Without blinking, the council has this week given preliminary approval to spending fifty thousand dollars on a new drug dog for the department.
