Sex offender being released in La Crosse

A convicted sex offender is being released and will live in La Crosse.

John M. Bjerkaas, 32, will reside at 809 Rose Street in La Crosse. He is set to be released today, March 13.

Bjerkaas was convicted in 2010 of second degree sexual assault of a child, reportedly a 12 year old female. He was also convicted of possessing child pornography in 2005.

He is required to comply with sex offender rules and he will have GPS monitoring.
